Studio Playlist / Friday Funk Favorites
There are two things you can count on when you visit the Friday & River San Diego studio - our three workshop dogs napping in each of their beds, and a steady stream of music to set the mood.
We each have very different and wide-reaching tastes in music, so we thought we'd share a bit of what's in rotation on each of our daily playlists and a few thoughts on how music inspires our work.
We're calling these posts Friday & River Studio Playlists, and each one will be curated by F&R staff and friends.
Our second installment of the Friday & River playlist highlights one of my all-time favorite music genre’s - Funk. A rhythmic mix soul, jazz, rock 'n roll, and well… funkiness, classic Funk music is a frequent sonic backdrop in the F&R studio. It inspires creativity and keeps our hands moving and spirits up on hectic days. This playlist features a few of my favorites, some well known, others a bit more underground, all amazing. It includes music from Funk-originator James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, The Undisputed Truth, Kool and the Gang, and Ohio Players to name a few.
Keep it Funky,
Joe
