A cornerstone of Stoic philosophy, the exercise of Memento Mori, contemplating our own death and the fragility of life helps us put our lives in perspective - to focus on what is important - living a virtuous life, family, friends - and understanding that things like status, money, career can be taken away at any moment.
The Skull & Feather graphic is an original illustration by Friday & River co-founder Yumi Kawamura. The skull represents our mortality, and the feathers represent the fragility of life.
The backside is blank, and can be debossed with a word of your choice that signifies something that you want to remember. For the example image we chose the word "nature" as stoics believe that one should always live in accordance to nature, or God's will. It is meant in the greater sense of the word "nature" as we are designed to fulfill our purpose as part of the greater humanity.
“When you arise in the morning think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love ...”
